In response to the rapid global advancement of artificial intelligence (AI), National Central University (NCU) President Hsiau, Shu-San led a delegation to the United States in July to visit leading technology companies in Silicon Valley. The delegation focused on next-generation AI technologies, including liquid cooling solutions for AI data centers, green computing, and the cultivation of high-level AI talent, with the aim of expanding international industry-academia partnerships and strengthening NCU's global innovation network.
The delegation, headed by President Hsiau, included Secretary-General Lee, Yu-Hsiang, Vice President for International Affairs Chang Chung-Pai, and Director of the Alumni Service Center Hung Hui-Chun. They were joined by NCU alumni leaders, including Hsu Chang-Wei, President of the Federation of North America NCU Alumni Associations, and Chang Shih-Chen, Vice President of the Northern California NCU Alumni Association. Together, they visited several leading technology companies in Silicon Valley to gain first-hand insights into the latest AI industry developments and explore opportunities for deeper collaboration between NCU and global enterprises.
The delegation's first stop was Cooler Master, a global leader in thermal solutions, where they were welcomed by Chen Yung-Hao, General Manager of Cooler Master North America. Discussions centered on the company's latest liquid cooling technologies for AI data centers. Both parties expressed their intention to collaborate on green computing, next-generation cooling technologies, and international internship programs to cultivate future AI talent.
The delegation also visited Supermicro, where they held in-depth discussions with President and CEO Charles Liang. As Supermicro's major manufacturing and research facilities in Taiwan are located in Taoyuan—home to NCU—the two sides share strong geographical and industrial ties. Building on this advantage, NCU and Supermicro plan to pursue joint research in advanced liquid cooling technologies and AI server architectures while working together to develop world-class AI professionals and strengthen the Asia-Pacific AI innovation ecosystem.
