With the global trend towards net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, demand for "green-collar" talent is on the rise. Since 2022, the Graduate Institute of Human Resource Management (GIHRM) at National Central University (NCU) has been conducting the first-ever Taiwan-wide "ESG HR Survey." The survey revealed that large enterprises are increasingly prioritizing environmental, social, and (corporate) governance (ESG) factors in pursuit of sustainable development.

Director Wang Chun-Hsiao of the GIHRM at NCU stated that the survey found a high level of awareness, at 96.5%, among HR professionals regarding ESG issues, making HR a key to the successful implementation of ESG initiativesProfessor Shen Chien-Wen, Director of the Asian Institute for Impact Measurement and Management at NCU, responsible for the planning of the Master's and Doctoral Degree Programs in Sustainable Leadership, noted that NCU has long been engaged in social innovation and public welfare. It promotes world-leading research on ESG-related topics. As the first university in Asia to have certified Advanced Practitioners of Social Value and SROI (social return on investment) and trainers certified by the United Nations Development Programme SDG (sustainable development goals) Impact Standards, NCU aims to cultivate interdisciplinary leaders. These leaders will integrate discussions on global sustainable development issues, drawing from fields such as law, politics, economics, management, environmental technology, and public ethics, to address the significant challenges facing humanity in global public affairs in the future.
