As the pandemic of COCID-19 rages around the globe, National Central University (NCU) exhibits creative performances in many aspects in response to the pandemic. For maintaining good teaching quality, the Office of Academic Affairs holds educational training on online teaching every week, expecting to complete training the faculty and teaching assistants of NCU as soon as possible. Online teaching delivered to large classes allows students to continue their studies without being interrupted by quarantine during the period of pandemic prevention.

Regarding corporate recruitment, NCU initiated the “Virtual Corporate Expo” this year where students could personally immerse themselves in the job-hunting experiences without the interference of the pandemic. For preserving the traits of a real expo, the Virtual Corporate Expo featured interactive functions including one-on-one video counseling, real-time Q&A, résumé submission, and online point-collecting lotteries. Combining real expos and providing more diverse job matching channels to corporates and students, this system is expected to be a new platform for job seekers in the future.

Also, the graduation ceremony of NCU this year took an innovative form with a feature of diversity. The ceremony was held on June 6 as scheduled. Its site was changed to the lawn by the copper sculpture, Tai Chi, and the number of its participants was limited to 200 people. The activity named the “Graduation Trip” was specifically planned to integrate diverse types of activities such as a scavenger hunt and online interaction. All graduates could take pictures using the devices set up on campus or participate in the graduation activities on the graduation website using electronic cards.

Faced with the raging pandemic, NCU responds with diverse and creative countermeasures, enabling students to complete a colorful chapter of their youthful life.
