National Central University (NCU) held an honorary doctorate conferral ceremony on October 1 to recognize Mr. Fang Ching-Jung and Mr. Lin Ming-Ji for their longstanding dedication to public welfare, unwavering support for education, and exceptional contributions that have benefitted generations of NCU students. Both honorees have generously established multiple scholarships over the years, ensuring that students can pursue their studies with stability and peace of mind—embodying the core values of education and talent cultivation.
As a founding board member of the Sunshine Social Welfare Foundation, Mr. Fang has been deeply committed to advancing financial transparency, performance management, and the development of car wash and reconstruction center services. He has helped introduce professional management practices into nonprofit organizations, elevating the quality and effectiveness of social services and setting a benchmark within Taiwan’s social welfare sector.
Mr. Lin, with extensive experience in international trade and corporate management, has consistently upheld his belief in giving back to society. He has personally taught at NCU’s School of Management, sharing his invaluable industry insights and managerial wisdom with students while nurturing future leaders with global perspectives.
NCU President Hsiau Shu-San noted that both honorees firmly believe education is the cornerstone of national development. Since 2005, they have continuously funded scholarships and, in late 2024, jointly donated toward the construction of a new General Education Building to replace the previous structure affected by sea-sand concrete issues. Their efforts aim to provide students with a safe and comfortable learning environment—an act of generosity that not only improves campus facilities but also reflects a long-term commitment to nurturing future generations.
For many years, Mr. Fang Ching-Jung and Mr. Lin Ming-Ji have devoted themselves to public welfare—not only through generous donations but also by establishing scholarships and supporting NCU with selfless dedication. They treat every NCU student as if they were their own children, demonstrating profound care for education and society through concrete, ongoing action.
