“  Taiwan Innotech Expo : National Central Univer”sity Tops the List in Awards among Universities and Colleges National Central University (NCU) honorably garnered  awards, including  gold,  silver, and  bronze medals, alongside  special enterprise awards, at the prestigious Taiwan Innotech Expo , establishing itself as the leading institution in awards received among universities and colleges. Professor Lin Tang-Huang from the Center for Space and Remote Sensing Research at NCU won a gold medal for his outstanding patent on "Aerosol Optical Depth Spectrum Differentiation for Determining the Typed and Contents of Aerosols." Professor Wu Yu-Ren from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at NCU and Professor Benjamin Lee, also from the same department, received gold medals for their outstand- ing patents on "The Method for Designing Cutters, Their Structures, and the Method for Manufacturing Rotors" and "Surface Treatment Equipment and Meth- ods and Surface Treatment Methods for Silicon Carbide Materials," respectively, outshining over  competing patents. The AUO Special Award recognized Professor Cheng Ko-Ting from the Department of Optics and Photonics at NCU for the invention of the "Privacy-protecting Penetrating Unidirectional Light Source," and Profes- sor Cheng earned both the special award and a silver medal in the invention competition. Photo provided by the Center for Academia and Industry Collaboration, NCU Professor Benjamin Lee from the Department of Mechanical Engineering received the Foxconn Special Award for the patent "Silicon Carbide Substrate or Sub- strate-Processing Method." This patent was recognized for its significant contributions to the development and mass production of chips used in electric vehicles. NCU maintains long-term close collaborations with vari- ous industries, develops innovative cutting-edge tech- nologies, and produces fruitful outcomes in fields such as space remote sensing, low-orbit satellites, sustain- able green energy, smart healthcare, intelligent machin- ery, and AI empowerment. The university will keep com- mitting itself to industry-academic collaboration.
